Ready To Fly

Front

This is one for all you Drizzy stanboys and girls.

Blend-tape expert DJ Noodles flipped a bunch of Drake acapellas for Ready to Fly, a collection of mash-ups reinterpreting songs by the Toronto native. Presented by Broken Cool and Dat Piff, it features Jay-Z, UGK, Kanye West, John Legend, Trey Songz, and of course the Martian.

Bump this as you throw on your trusty hump-day cardigan.

Download link and back cover with track list below. Shout to the good homie Adam, Enjoy!

Jay-Z: Answer The Call

9/11

Looks like Blueprint 3 sprung a serious leak this morning, as features with Kanye and J Cole have hit the ‘nets. I’ll post the links but I haven’t heard ’em yet since I’m at the executive office.

Another bit of info dropped today about the September 11th concert Hov is throwing at MSG. According to Answer the Call, tickets go on sale Sept. 8 and are $50. You’ll know more when I do.

[Edit] The internet presale starts at 9 AM EST on Sept. 8 for Citi Card members only, then at noon they go on sale to the public. I knew that college credit card would pay off sometime! Check out Ticketmaster for more info.

Shouts to Illionaire & Low Key for the tracks, Enjoy!

11 Ultimate Hip-Hop Trios

New Wu

With the dream-team of Ghostface, Raekwon & Method Man forming like Voltron possibly even before ’09 kicks the bucket, heads everywhere should be drooling over the possibility of an album from the Wu-based trio.

Similarly, the three-headed monster Random Axe comprised of Black Milk, Sean Price & Guilty Simpson leaking “Monster Babies” off their upcoming collab album this year was monumental.

These combos really are dreams come true. So I got to thinking, what other combinations of MCs would hip-hop heads like to hear? Here are my choices for 11 of the ultimate hip-hop trios:

Jay-Z, Nas & Eminem

Jay-Z on Real Time with Bill Maher

I caught Sean Carter on Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO last night over at my homies crib, enjoyed it a lot.

Hov goes into how he puts together a track, hip-hop culture in general, calls Kanye a “genius” and Biggie the best to ever do it (besides himslf) then receives a book of every single lyric he’s ever spit. Hov’s laugh just makes me want to crack up every time!

Shouts to the Double R for the footage, Enjoy!

Obligatory Jay-Z & Drake Post

Hov

By now I’m sure you’ve heard the long-awaited cut “Off That” by Hov & Drizzy off Blueprint 3 produced by Timbaland.

I’m content with Drake solely on the hook since I’m positive he can’t keep up with the living legend just yet. I’d also love to hear more from Timbo on BP3, but No-ID and Kanye ain’t bad at all.

Peep the download links below. What do y’all think?

Sound (& Video) Table 8/20/09

For today’s edition of the Sound Table I had to include some new videos storming the innanets. Up top is “Run This Town” from Jay-Z’s upcoming LP Blueprint 3 featuring Rihanna & Kanye West, down below is the remix to Jamie Foxx’s “Digital Girl” with ‘Yeezy, The-Dream & Drake.

After that are some gems, including a demo tape from Eminem’s early years and the album that B.o.B. should put out if Atlantic wasn’t bullshitting taking their sweet time. It reminds me of Little Brother’s Getback all over again.

Ready? Enjoy!

Sound Table
