Tonight: William Cooper’s Album Listening Party

William Cooper

That’s right, the day is finally here.

Members of the media, tastemakers, DJs, radio personalities, film crews and hip-hop heads will gather tonight in one of Manhattan’s most historic recording studios to hear William Cooper a.k.a. Booth’s debut solo album Beware of the Pale Horse.

The listening party starts at 7:45 PM at the legendary Chung King Studios. That’s right, we’ll be in the same spot that countless greats recorded including Jay-Z, Jimi Hendrix, Big Pun, Eminem, LL Cool J, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli, Aaliyah (RIP), Dead Prez, and the list goes on. Go ahead and shoot me an e-mail ASAP if you’d like to be added to the list, since there is limited space.

I wanna extend a special thank you to everyone who has helped my effort to inform people about the talented, real MC that is William Cooper of Black Market Militia. He put a lot of hard-work into this project, the culmination of 3-years of relentless grinding to release it on his very own label, Gemstarr Regime. I’ve seen his tracks getting love at NahRight, TSS, 2DB, Broken Cool, HipHopDX in addition to so many other blogs and websites that showed support. Good lookin’ out, for real.

He’s also got some extremely dope features on the album too. Kool G Rap, Killah Priest, Ill Bill (La Coka Nostra), Nature (The Firm), 9th Prince (Killarmy), Hell Razah (Sunz of Man) and more showed love to the homie because they believed in him.

I’ve got a good feeling that everyone that shows up tonight will walk away impressed and craving to hear the album again, as it’s a thought-provoking listen with quality production and thorough concepts.

Below are the three tracks that I’ve leaked thus far. Hit me up to hear the full-length album tonight if you’re in the Big Apple. October 20th, let’s make history. Enjoy!

Videos from Ghostface Album Release Party

Last night was pretty epic for both hip-hop culture and my personal journey as a part of it.

Ghostface tore down Hiro Ballroom NYC for his Ghostdini: The Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City release party, bringing out a boatload of special guests including U-God, Jadakiss, Redman, Large Pro & Kid Cudi.

After promoting William Cooper’s Beware of the Pale Horse on the street with Cooper & BP then waiting three hours on line in the chilly Manhattan wind, we finally made it inside right before Ghost rocked.  Similar to the other times I’ve seen Tony Starks live, the energy was non-stop intense – rap cats of all ages (even Hov)could take away a few pointers.

As for me personally, I met Pharoahe Monch, 9th Prince of Killarmy and Trife da God throughout the night. Besides a scuffle on stage as near the end of the show, it was extremely dope overall.

I’ve linked some of the concert footage popping up round the ‘net. Up top is a good angle, shout to Ian for the heads up & Digiwaxx for the vid. You’ll see a different vantage point down below, thanks to Khal for the heads up.

Let’s go hip-hop, Enjoy!
