11 Ultimate Hip-Hop Trios

New Wu

With the dream-team of Ghostface, Raekwon & Method Man forming like Voltron possibly even before ’09 kicks the bucket, heads everywhere should be drooling over the possibility of an album from the Wu-based trio.

Similarly, the three-headed monster Random Axe comprised of Black Milk, Sean Price & Guilty Simpson leaking “Monster Babies” off their upcoming collab album this year was monumental.

These combos really are dreams come true. So I got to thinking, what other combinations of MCs would hip-hop heads like to hear? Here are my choices for 11 of the ultimate hip-hop trios:

Jay-Z, Nas & Eminem

nice list.. don’t care with the inclusion of Kanye with Talib and Monch.. Maybe if he’s the producer but that’s it. Those two are much too lyrical for him.. love the Blu, Ali and Elect selection.. With Pos, I would have replaced Phife and A-plus (don’t get me wrong I love those two), but I would have had Tajai and One Be Lo… Would have also had a group (Lyrically Inclined) consisting of Ras Kass, Planet Asia, Gza… lastly would have replaced Wale with Skyzoo….

Fake Hustle means Permanent WEED CARRIERS!! All Hail the man who carries the weed. However, I like what you were trying to get at but I think that when you have a group of anykind, dealing with music the rappers included in the groups should be diverse. I think that the you grouped these guys because of alot of similarities that they have.

I dunno. Members of Tribe, De La, The Lox, Wu-Tang all have various similarities across the board yet bring something different to the table. The MC’s can’t be that different or it won’t be a cohesive mix. Picture Lil’ Fame, Slug from Atmosphere and Kid Cudi making a group for instance. There aren’t many similarities, so it would be a hot mess. I see what you mean but I only agree to a certain extent.

    Eminem, Andre 3000 and Jadakiss
