Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek) – The RE:Union mixed by Statik Selektah

The RE:Union

For the first official mixtape post of the year, we’ve got a heater compliments of Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek and Statik Selektah.

The Massachusetts-bred DJ/Producer spun together a fresh mix of new, old and rare Reflection Eternal material, including the banger “Just Begun” with Jay Electronica, J. Cola & Mos Def.

I’m dumb excited to hear how Kweli & Hi-Tek sound on the new jawn “Hang Ups” and how Statik mixed this particular tape, since he’s a beast when it comes to sequencing and scratching.

Check back for more updates on the upcoming RE album and any leaks that hit the ‘net.

Shout to Year of the Blacksmith for the heads up, Enjoy!

Reflection Eternal ft. Jay Electronica, J. Cole & Mos Def – Untitled [Radio Rip] prod. Hi-Tek

Kweli, Jay Elec, Cole & Mos

Now THIS is exactly what hip-hop needs.

Talib Kweli & DJ Hi-Tek recruit some of the illest spitters in the game for this cut produced by Hi-Tek himself. This particular radio rip is from Just Blaze and Jay Elec-Hannukkah on Tony Touch’s Shade 45 show last night.

Can’t wait until the CDQ is liberated, who will be first? We’ll surely find out soon, it’d be a dope Christmas present..

Shouts to Heather for the pic & Usershare link and Dre for the Mediafire link, Enjoy!

Noisemakers EP

Noisemakers

Spotted this yesterday while watching the Giants illustrate exactly the opposite of what a good defense looks like. I’m lazy today so here’s some copy and paste action from J. Period:

3 Exclusive New Remixes + Freestyles Starring Talib Kweli and Remixed by J.Period!  J.Period & Talib Kweli’s “Noisemakers EP” celebrates the latest installment of Peter Rosenberg’s critically-acclaimed Noisemakers series. Noisemakers with Talib Kweli is going down on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 92YTribeca (tickets available in advance at: http://tiny.cc/WrAgg).  J.Period & Talib Kweli’s “Noisemakers EP” also offers an advanced preview of J.Period’s top secret, upcoming mixtape collaboration with Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli & DJ Hi-Tek)…coming soon!!!

I wish I could go but I banned myself from New York City events during the week due to hangovers causing me to miss work personal reasons.

A top-secret RE mixtape? That’s what I’m talmbout!

Shouts to Meka for the heads up, Enjoy!

4th of July Half Time Mix

Happy 4th of July

While I’m working on a half-time recap piece for one of my favorite websites (you’ll know soon enough), I put together this mix of some of the year’s best hip-hop tracks thus far.

You’ll hear everything from mainstream jams by Fabolous and Maino to underground gems from Doom and Wu-Tang Clan, a concise wrap up of the best of the first half of ’09.

Spark up the BBQ (among other things, if that’s ya style), grab an ice-cold Old English and bump this for the ingredients for a dope Independence Day celebration, Enjoy!
