Kimbo Price

Kimbo Price

Ah, where was I? Oh, yes.
Shawn Carter is nice but Sean Price is the best

Let’s keep it goin’, shall we?

If you aren’t anticipating Sean Price’s new mix CD Kimbo Price, then I don’t think I can help you. Maybe his new track will. “Figure Four” is fully-packed with his signature rawness and ruthless bravado – defined byMerriam-Webster as “a blustering swaggering conduct.” That, my good people, is the only allowable use of “swagger” or any of its derivatives on my site.

Here’s the scoop on the disc from the press release:

We have seen that Sean Price is a multifaceted individual. With the start up of his newly formed label, RUCK DOWN RECORDS, Sean Price still finds the necessary time to record and promote his own albums. KIMBO PRICE, the prelude to his next national album, MIC TYSON (2010), is a 23 track mix cd that brings the listeners into the world of Sean Price that we love so much. If you know Sean Price in some capacity, you probably got dissed on this album. The rapper goes so far as to say he doesn’t even like himself!

Be on the look out for new Sean Price videos off KIMBO PRICE tracks and stay tuned for exclusive music from Sean Price’s new super group, RANDOM AXE comprised of Sean Price, Guilty Simpson and Black Milk.
Catch Sean Price at a Fat Beats In-Store signing for his new mix cd on October 23rd from 6PM – 9PM and the following evening for a live performance at Duck Down’s CMJ Showcase at Gramercy Theater. Tickets for the event are now on sale through Gramercy’s Site via Live Nation:

Whew! Now are you amped? Don’t make me report you to the CEO of Ruck Down.

Walk These Streets

Walk These Streets

It’s the same ol’ same ol’
Don’t matter if you in it for the fame or you lay low
Hater’s gon’ hate, but it’s okay though
The angle is always make sure the bank roll stay swoll

There’s no plumber that can stop these leaks, and I’m lovin’ it.

Here’s a new cut off the god Rakim Allah’s upcoming album The Seventh Seal featuring Maino. Interesting match-up, but I can dig this one as Ra is on his Paid In Full steez and Maino drops a cool sixteen. I don’t know who produced this, though it does have the bounce similar to a certain Doctor.

The Seventh Seal drops November 17th, I think. Shouts to Broken Cool for the audio, Enjoy!

Let’s Go

Let's Go

.. ‘Cause it just don’t stop, party people.

The very good folks at Potholes In My Blog shot me over the first track off their upcoming mixtape Potholes In My Blog Presents.. The Ozone entitled “Let’s Go.” From the press release:

.. A new mixtape highlighting talent both up-and-coming and established out of one of the hottest breeding grounds for underground hip hop…Orlando?!?!?

If you’re confused, don’t worry. So am I. Oh well, let’s roll with it.

In all honesty, I’m posting this solely because I’m a big fan of the homie Emilio Rojas, who is featured on this track by the most original hip-hop name I’ve ever heard IMAKEMADBEATS

I’m sorry, but I gotta throw my $.02 in here. I wouldn’t have listened to this song if it was an IMAKEMADBEATS solo joint. Would you have?

Someone should tell him to reconsider if he’s serious about making music. Actually, someone just did. That someone is me. It looks like a name my 9-year old cousin would choose as his XBox Live moniker. And what’s with the all-caps? Are you screaming at me to let me know that you make beats? C’mon dog, there’s gotta be a better way to promote yourself.

Don’t act like people actually call you that, either. You made it up, therefore you can change it. And don’t use some “formally known as” bullshit, just change it and move on. You’ll thank me later, no Drake.

I’m not knocking his ability whatsoever, I actually like this particular beat, however I respect creativity and originality in hip-hop and that name possesess neither.

Anyways, the mixtape drops October 20th which is shaping up to be a very busy day in hip-hop, especially for my close homie William Cooper. If you don’t know why yet, shame on you. Direct yourself to the sidebar on the right or to the nearest cliff. Thank you much.

Shout to Reyn, Soul Supreme and all the Potholes familia for the heads up on this one, just tell your boy I need to see some more thought when it comes to his nickname. Enjoy!

Science Team… Go!

Last Emperor

Here’s a project that flew under my radar until today. Now, I’ve got my eyes and (more importantly) ears on it.

Last Emperor, in my opinion one of the most creative and underappreciated MC’s, recently dropped Science Team… Go! available for free-99 at your local e-bodega, including this one.

Mixed by The Bash Bros (DJ Mickey Knox & DJ Concept), it’s a collection of tracks released over the past couple years by the Philly MC including the highly-praised “Secret Wars 2” that pits a new group of comic book characters against rappers for ultimate universal supremacy.

Head over to to buy a physical copy, which comes with a T-shirt, poster and bonus disc of live performance audio and rare collabos.

Thanks to Grand Good for the heads up and Freestyle Madness for the link, Enjoy!
