Last night was pretty epic for both hip-hop culture and my personal journey as a part of it.
Ghostface tore down Hiro Ballroom NYC for his Ghostdini: The Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City release party, bringing out a boatload of special guests including U-God, Jadakiss, Redman, Large Pro & Kid Cudi.
After promoting William Cooper’s Beware of the Pale Horse on the street with Cooper & BP then waiting three hours on line in the chilly Manhattan wind, we finally made it inside right before Ghost rocked. Similar to the other times I’ve seen Tony Starks live, the energy was non-stop intense – rap cats of all ages (even Hov)could take away a few pointers.
As for me personally, I met Pharoahe Monch, 9th Prince of Killarmy and Trife da God throughout the night. Besides a scuffle on stage as near the end of the show, it was extremely dope overall.
I’ve linked some of the concert footage popping up round the ‘net. Up top is a good angle, shout to Ian for the heads up & Digiwaxx for the vid. You’ll see a different vantage point down below, thanks to Khal for the heads up.
Let’s go hip-hop, Enjoy!
